Photo circulating of strange green liquid lining seats of transit bus

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The head of the bus drivers’ union isn’t worried after a strange green liquid poured out of an overhead compartment and onto several seats of an SFU-Burrard bus.

Nathan Woods says he thinks it was an anti-freeze leak.

“It is no different than an inadvertent oil leak or a coach overheating this is all part of a mechanical operation and stuff like this does happen, no different than it does in your car.”

A photo of the leak has emerged on social media.

“Coaches do have pipes that run along the length of the coaches and are prone at times to wear out and break, that’s what that appears to be,” he adds.

“These coaches get tens of thousands of kilometers on them and there are times when a coach will find itself in a state like this when a hose has had enough. This is the 135, it is an articulated coach [bus] so it has additional moving parts on it and this looks like it could be [I’m looking at the picture,] it could be at the back of the coach right where the beginning of the articulated joint where there would be a lot of wear and tear.”

No one was injured.
