The Cannery serves up its last meal tomorrow

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s the end for an institution in Vancouver. The Cannery Restaurant, on the waterfront since 1971, will be serving its last meal tomorrow night.

Up to 500 customers are expected to cram in for one last celebration of good food and service. The Vancouver Sun reports one Cannery-lover is actually flying in from London, England just for the party.

The restaurant has been slated for closure ever since port security was increased after the terror attacks of 9/11. The Port Metro Vancouver wouldn’t renew the lease.
