VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – From oysters and chocolate to saffron and strawberries — history is filled with legendary ties between foods that stimulate us. ‘Wisewomen’s Cookery’ might make you blush and will probably teach you a thing or two.
Authors Shannon Loeber and Mary Edwards share their fascinations with love, food, history and seduction.
Their book, which the two say is about aphrodisiac food and sensuality, reveals how everyday fruits and veggies can turn up the heat on your love life. “A lot of vegetables, the beet, carrot — the amount of natural sugars in them, the vitamins, the minerals. Chili peppers have a chemical… that gives off the same endorphin that your pituitary gland gives off when you’re at the height of your personal enjoyment.”
Just in case, ‘Wisewomen’s Cookery,’ even explores a little garden alchemy and herb craft.
