Hometown Hockey is in Vancouver this weekend

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – A hockey tradition is making its way to Vancouver this weekend. Rogers Hometown Hockey with hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone will be in the Lower Mainland with some special guests.
Vancouver Canucks alumni Larry MeInyk, Dave Babych, Darcy Rota, Jack McIIhargey and Jyrki Lumme will also be taking part in the festivities.
The two-day hockey celebration gets underway Saturday at Larwill Park at Georgia and Cambie Streets and it concludes Sunday evening after an outdoor viewing party.
Sunday’s broadcast kicks off with a special pre-game show hosted live on site from the Sportsnet Mobile Studio beginning at noon on Sportsnet followed by a showdown between the New Jersey Devils and Vancouver Canucks at 3:30 p.m.

Features you can catch on the air this weekend include Tara Slone hopping aboard the Aquabus in False Creek to check out Vancouver’s waterfront.
There will also be a piece including those from the 2007 Vancouver Giants Memorial Cup winning team like Milan Lucic, Lance Bouma, and Ron Toigo. And you’ll get to hear from Vladimir Bure whose son Pavel thrilled hometown fans for years.
