VICTORIA (NEWS 1130) – The B.C. Liberals sent a letter to the NDP and Green house leaders asking questions about what kind of legal advice they obtained before a motion to suspend two top legislature officials.

The Liberal caucus participated in a unanimous vote in favour of a motion to suspend sergeant-at-arms Gary Lenz and clerk Craig James on Tuesday amid an ongoing RCMP investigation.
But now Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson says they followed the plan to remove the men without asking questions because they believed the government had solid legal grounds to make the move.
Wilkinson says he’s concerned by a letter from a lawyer for Lenz and James that calls for the legislature to reinstate the officals, saying they deny wrongdoing and don’t know why they’ve been suspended.
