Aldergrove’s Twilight drive-in given the go ahead to stay open after visit from bylaw officers

ALDERGROVE (NEWS 1130) — Movie theatres across Metro Vancouver have been closed for almost a month, but people are still able to take in a show at the drive-in in Aldergrove amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Langley township bylaw officers paid a visit to the Twilight Drive-In at 260 Street and Fraser Highway and gave it the go-ahead to remain open because it is following the rules.
Movie theatres are closed, but Twilight Drive-In is open.

“The Twilight Drive-In is a private business and has not been mandated by health authorities to close at this time, however they must comply with orders and guidance from health authorities on gathering size and physical distancing. Our bylaw officers visited the location and confirmed that the establishment has put in protocols to comply with the health authority orders and guidelines,” according to an email from the township’s Emergency Operations Centre.

According to the theatre, the number of cars allowed has been cut in half to allow more space between vehicles.

•One vehicle per 20 foot stall (typically it’s two)
•Walk-ins not permitted
•Concession limited to 15 customers
•Concession only one till open (typically it’s four)

The concession stand remains open but a number of changes have been made including a transition to individually packaged condiments, a limit on the number of people allowed inside at once, and transitioning to only one cashier.
Only eight people are allowed in the washrooms at one time, and anyone who has left the country in the last 14 days or who is feeling unwell is being asked to stay home.
