VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Motor vehicles are driving through Stanley Park, again.
But they are allowed to use just one lane, while the other is reserved for bikes.
Vehicle traffic was supposed to be allowed through the park as of 1 p.m. Monday.
Vancouver Park crews were making last-minute adjustments in the morning, making sure signs and lane markings were in place, notifying all users of the change. They finished early.
Riley Phillips, in the Craftsmen Collision Air Patrol, wonders how the changes will work once the weekend arrives, and reported some vehicles seemed confused by the changes on Monday.

He added traffic is heavy through the park on weekends during normal times, with two lanes open to vehicles.
“Seeing it down to a single lane, on a weekend, we’ll have to see how far that backs up.”
Park visitors will also find fewer parking spaces because of the changes.
About a third of them have been taken away.
The Vancouver Park Board has announced in April that Stanley Park would go car-free to encourage physical distancing during the pandemic.
Park board members voted at an emergency meeting Friday to partly open the park to vehicles.
