“Fortunately there was no one who had to be evacuated from the property, and no one was reported injured during this incident,” says Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police.
The flames moved up from the dumpster behind the building and eventually lit the roof on fire.
The thrift store, which is in the building, was “most significantly impacted,” police say, but did not provide further details.
Nearby units were also damaged by smoke.
The cause of the fire is being investigated, and anyone who was in the area or has video is asked to call police at 604-946-4411 and quote file 20-30101.
