VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Three people have been taken to the hospital after being bit by a coyote in Stanley Park Wednesday morning.
A man doing yoga near Prospect Point was “approached by a coyote and bitten on the arm,” according to the BC Conservation Officer Service.
While the man was chasing the coyote away, it “attacked” someone jogging on the road.
“A woman who intervened to help the runner was also bitten on the arm and leg,” says a Facebook post.
“All three adults were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

Coyotes continue to chase, ‘nip at’ people in Stanley Park
There have been multiple instances of coyotes biting people in the park this year, and conservation officers say it’s unlikely only one coyote is responsible.
Tips on how to handle a coyote encounter include shouting, waving one’s arms, and throwing things at the animal. Running, or turning one’s back on a coyote is never a good idea.
