Truckers, apparently angry with the cost of fuel, took to Highway 1 Monday morning in a vehicle protest that slowed westbound traffic from Surrey across the Port Mann Bridge into Coquitlam.
A long line of vehicles, including many trucks, slowly rolled its way along the major route, tying up traffic.
The drivers were reportedly protesting the high cost of fuel. Gas in Metro Vancouver hit $2.149 last week, shattering previous record, while diesel climbed even higher.

Images showed the lineup of mostly big rigs slowing commuters behind them.
“The lead truck is going slower than the speed limit, so it’s causing a whole delay through the whole convoy,” said Justin, who called the CityNews newsroom just before 7:30 a.m. Monday.
“There’s dozens of trucks on Highway 1 in the right hand lane. Some have their lights on.”
