Vancouver police respond to fight involving man with axe

Vancouver police responded to a fight near Kingsgate Mall Friday where one individual reportedly had an axe.

Police were called to a building close to Kingsway and East 10th Avenue around 7 p.m. in regards to an incident between two residents.

“One of the people involved was seen walking around with an axe,” Sgt. Steve Addison, VPD, told CityNews.

“Two people were arrested by VPD, however the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid.”

Addison said that neither of the two individuals involved in the incident suffered serious or life threating injuries.

The axe was recovered by VPD, added Addison.
