Grouse Grind closing for gondola work

If you had plans to hike up the Grouse Grind in the coming weeks, you may have to reschedule.
The popular North Shore trail will be closed from Oct. 31 to Nov. 14.
According to the Metro Vancouver Regional District, the closure is due to construction work on a new gondola. It notes helicopter operations will be carried out during that period, meaning the Grind won’t be available.

The trail is 2.5 kilometres in length and is a gruelling hike for many people, with a steep uphill climb and many stairs to get through.
The Grouse Grind is popular with both visitors and locals.
The BCMC Route is also closed Monday to Friday for trail upgrades until Nov. 10.

Meanwhile, with recent rainfall across the Lower Mainland, the regional district was forced to close Grouse Mountain Regional Park due to “hazardous” conditions.
