BC Ferries wants to upgrade check-in and boarding processes

By The Canadian Press

If all goes as planned, you’ll see some big upgrades at several of B.C.’s biggest ferry terminals.

BC Ferries has asked the British Columbia Ferries Commissioner to approve millions of dollars of improvements at Duke Point, Tsawwassen, Horseshoe Bay, Departure Bay, and Swartz Bay.

It says the work will transform check-in and boarding processes for customers.

The proposal includes upgraded kiosks, fare gates, boarding pass validators for foot passengers, and an express lane check-in for reserved customers.

Once approved, it will take about four years to complete the work.
