Homicide team deployed to Chilliwack

A homicide investigation has been launched after human remains were discovered in Chilliwack.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the remains were found in the area of Princess Avenue near Nowell Street on Wednesday.

IHIT has identified the victim as 35-year-old Corey Douglas Farmer and is hoping someone will have information to help in the investigation.

No cause of death has been released.

“If you have information regarding Mr. Farmer or his whereabouts in the time leading up to his death, and have yet to speak with police, now is the time to come forward,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti.

Investigators are looking to speak with witnesses and are canvassing the area for CCTV footage. They are asking anyone who has not yet spoken with police to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
