SkyTrain’s Canada Line service resumes, after disruption around downtown

Transit riders can now board the Canada Line in Vancouver’s downtown core again, after some heavy delays Monday evening.

The SkyTrain’s Canada Line service was suspended between Waterfront Station and Olympic Village Station during peak commuting hours, due to a medical emergency at Vancouver City Centre.

That meant there was no Canada Line service to and from the downtown core.

TransLink attributed the closures to “an incident involving mental health” and noted there was no risk to public safety.

BC Emergency Health Services told CityNews four ambulances responded to a medical incident at 5:15 p.m. and one patient was transported to hospital.
