170 best-dressed bikers to ride through Vancouver

Roughly 170 motorcyclists will gather in Vancouver this weekend to raise money for prostate cancer and men’s health research.
The 13th annual Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a charity event, coming to Vancouver Sunday morning, where motorbike riders are encouraged to dress —and ride— in formal attire.
The charity’s website says a photo of Don Draper, from the TV series Mad Men, astride a motorcycle, inspired the first event in Australia back in 2012.
In 2016, the charity partnered with Movember. Since then, Mitch Hermansen of Movember Canada says it has been growing “across the world,” with riders raising funds and awareness every year.
“When they’re out and about in the city, it’s hard to ignore, you know? A pack of 170 riders looking really dapper. It’s impossible not to look and we know they’re doing it for this really imporant cause,” said Hermansen.
He says the over 170 riders registered in Vancouver will join tens of thousands worldwide.
“It’s happening in over 120 countries around the world. From Japan to Australia, Pakistan, Brazil, South Africa, and in Canada,” said Hermansen.
As of Friday afternoon, the charity’s website says 98,122 bikers have registered for the 2024 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Registration is still open.
Riders will gather at International Motorsports on Grandview Highway in Vancouver at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday and then kick off at 10 o’clock sharp.
