Man arrested after attempted robbery of woman on mobility scooter in North Vancouver

North Vancouver RCMP have arrested a man in relation to an assault and attempted robbery of a person on a mobility scooter in early September.
On Sept. 7, around 2:50 p.m., police say officers responded to reports of a robbery and assault taking place outside a pharmacy near Marine Drive and Pemberton Avenue.
“It is alleged that an unidentified male attempted to steal items from a woman’s handbag that was hanging from her mobility scooter while she was stopped outside the pharmacy,” Mounties said.
They say the alleged incident caused an altercation, and the victim and a bystander who tried to intervene were assaulted by the suspect.
Following the release of CCTV images of the suspect, the RCMP received numerous tips from the public.
On Wednesday, officers arrested a man in connection with the attack.
The accused has since been released from custody. His next court appearance is scheudled for Jan. 15, according to police.
