Police say the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team was called in to help SPS officers as residents of other suites were evacuated from the building.

“At about 12:30 am, officers began to hear gunshots being fired from inside the suite, with the shots being fired towards the outside,” the SPS said.
“The man was arrested shortly before 1:00 am by LMD ERT and Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Services. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation, where he remains in custody.”
Police say an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
