Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was then transported to hospital in stable condition.

WorkSafeBC says it was been notified of an incident and is waiting on the employer to do a mandatory preliminary investigation within 48 hours.

1130 NewsRadio has reached out to both the developer and relevant unions for comment.

Oakridge was the site of another worker safety incident in February 2024, when a construction crane’s load came crashing down, killing a woman.

A report by WorkSafeBC says “several critical safety failures” are to blame for the 2024 death.
