4.8-magnitude earthquake strikes south of Haida Gwaii, B.C.

A 4.8-magnitude quake was measured off of B.C.’s Central Coast Sunday morning, Earthquakes Canada says.
The earthquake struck around 200 kilometres west of Bella Bella — approximately 600 km northwest of Vancouver — shortly after 8 a.m.
According to Earthquakes Canada, the tremor was not felt, and there were no reports of damage.
There was no tsunami threat, it says.
The United States Geological Survey recorded the quake with a magnitude of 4.0.
The most recent significant quake in this region struck on Sept. 15, 2024, with a magnitude of 7.8.
