The Queensborough Bridge, which links New Westminster and Richmond, is set to undergo a multi-million-dollar makeover.
B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Transit has announced a $20.8-million contract award for the major upgrade, which will include resurfacing, deck-joint replacement, and drainage upgrades.

The province says the bridge first opened in 1960 and has undergone multiple renovations, including seismic and safety upgrades, over its lifespan. Almost 88,000 vehicles are estimated to cross the bridge every day.

The contract was awarded to Kingston Construction Ltd.
There will be nightly lane closures for the duration of the work. One lane will remain open in each direction overnight, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the week and from 9:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekends.
