2 people dead after crash in Langley: RCMP

Two people are dead after a crash involving an SUV and a commercial truck in Langley Tuesday evening, the RCMP says.

Crews were called to the area of 16 Avenue and 252 Street shortly before 11 p.m., Mounties say.

“This was a tragic collision that resulted in the loss of two lives,” said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom.

“One person was declared deceased at the scene, and a second person later died in hospital. Investigators continue to examine the factors that contributed to this collision. We are asking any witnesses or anyone with dash camera footage to come forward.”

Sharoom says it was the SUV’s driver and a passenger who died. The truck driver is uninjured and is cooperating with police.

Images taken at the scene show a severely damaged SUV on its roof. As well, the commercial truck can be seen with a badly damaged front end.
