Cops for Cancer is an exciting annual event that takes place each fall, when over a hundred law enforcement and emergency services personnel from across the province brave all types of weather as they cycle up to two weeks across the daunting terrain of Vancouver Island, Northern BC, the coast of British Columbia and the Fraser Valley.

In 2014 the Canadian Cancer Society invested $3.1 million in pediatric cancer research. Here are a couple examples of research:

  • A study with children and parents designed to increase physical activity. Research shows that regular physical activity can protect against some cancers
  • A program studying the lifelong effects of cancer treatments on survivors diagnosed before the age of 25. The research team will assess ongoing problems with health, education, employability and support needs of survivors
  • We are advocating for better support for parents and legal guardians who need to take time off work to care for children with cancer

This 900 km Tour pedals the Sea to Sky corridor as well as the Sunshine Coast, North Shore and cities in Greater Vancouver from Maple Ridge to Richmond.
