Burst water main blamed for mudslide in Coquitlam

By

COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – A burst water main is being blamed for a large landslide in Coquitlam that has left a house in a precarious position on the edge of a muddy ravine.  The problems started around 6 p.m Wednesday on Corona Crescent (on the Port Moody border).

No one was hurt, but all of the trees in the back of the house were washed out in the slide.  The home remains intact, but a geotechnical expert is expected to check the house and foundation.  Police tape surrounds the area, and a number of other homes in the area were without water service.
