Children’s shut down lemonade stand may have new location

By

PORT COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – A follow-up on a story News1130 first brought you Friday.

The two boys, whose lemonade stand in Port Coquitlam was shut down by by-law officers because they didn’t have a business license, may have found a new location to set up shop.

After hearing the story on our station, Jennifer Meyer says she’s contacted a local Save-On-Foods to see if the kids could do their fundraising there.  “Oh!  I was outraged.  I think it’s absolutely crazy, when kids are doing good things, when they’re doing something proactive and constructive, it makes no sense.  That’s where bureaucracy goes in the wrong direction.”

No word yet on a date or time the children will be allowed to sell their lemonade.
