VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Merchants in Vancouver’s Strathcona neighbourhood are encouraging people to go green. It’s part of a strategy launched by the local Business Improvement Association.
Sophie Agbonkhese with the Strathcona BIA says they’ve been working hard over the past couple of years to become the “Green Zone” of Vancouver by encouraging members to be more environmentally proactive in the workplace. “We are starting to get some changes of heart from even the most skeptical people. We’re getting people involved with the resource exchange and they’re coming out, surprised to see there are actually other people who could use the garbage that they’ve been throwing away.”
The 3rd annual Strathcona Sustainability Expo will be held on September 28th at the Vancouver Japanese Language Hall.
