NANAIMO (NEWS1130) – Mounties in Nanaimo aren’t getting much cooperation from a man they found yesterday morning in his underwear and handcuffed to a telephone pole.
People on their way to work in upper Lantzville saw the man and called 911 shortly before 8 o’clock.
The 24-year-old man was found suffering from mild hypothermia and shivering. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
All he’s told police is he was kidnapped and hit on the head with a bat or piece of wood after leaving a friend’s house around midnight and was then stripped, cuffed to the pole and robbed.
He is not saying who his attackers were or what their motive might have been.
Police say the incident could be drug related.
