Sedin snipes in Skills Event

RALEIGH, NC (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Canucks winger Daniel Sedin won the Accuracy Shooting event at the NHL Super Skills Competition. Daniel defeated Patrick Kane of Chicago Blackhawks in the final.
Shooting for Team Staal, Daniel was four for four in the opening round, and needed an extra shot to defeat Kane in the final. The players had to hit four foam targets in the corners of the net from twenty five feet out, in the shortest amount of time.
Ryan Kesler of Team Staal and the Canucks narrowly lost his heat in the Fastest Skater event to Martin St. Louis of Tampa. Former Canuck Michael Grabner of the New York Islanders was the fastest person to do a lap of the ice. He knocked off Oilers rookie Taylor Hall.
Alex Ovechkin was voted by the fans as the winner of the Breakaway Challenge. Canucks captain Henrik Sedin was part of the winning Team Lidstrom unit, which took the Skills Challenge relay.
The Bruins Zdeno Chara broke his record in the NHL’s Hardest Shot event. The former Prince George Cougar slapped the puck at 105.9 miles per hour or 170.43 km/h. He defeated Sicamous native Shea Weber of the Nashville Predators.
All Players took part in the elimination shootout. Corey Perry of Anaheim was the victor. Team Staal beat Team Lidstrom 33-22 in the NHL Super Skills competition.
