Mounties investigate leads in Jane Doe’s case

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Missing Women Task Force has received 22 tips since Saturday, after releasing a composite picture of a ‘Jane Doe’ linked to Robert Pickton’s farm in Port Coquitlam.

The Mounties are still hoping to identify the woman who died sometime between 1985 and 1995.

Six of those new tips have been ruled out already, 16 are still under investigation.

Corporal Annie Linteau with the Mounties says the calls keep coming. “To be honest, we keep receiving information. I know we have today. So, we encourage anyone who has any information to give us a call.”

A piece of Jane Doe’s skull was found near Highway 7 in Mission in 1995.  Bones found at Pickton’s farm in 2002 proved to be a genetic match.

Linteau says the convicted killer has never volunteered any information about the Jane Doe case.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Missing Women Task Force Tip Line at 1-800-687-3377.
