CT scan results still being re-examined

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Anxious patients on Vancouver Island should find out within weeks if recent CT scans were interpreted correctly.

The scans of nearly 2,500 patients have been triple-checked and results of the reviews will be in the mail by the end of March.

The review of scans from St. Joseph’s hospital in Comox began when a long-time radiologist at the hospital was determined to have made significant errors interpreting some of the high-tech pictures.

Scans of another 3,400 patients in Powell River and the Abbotsford area are also being checked for the same reason.
