VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Drivers cutting into the lineup at Aldergrove and Pac Highway border crossings have been a major frustration for years.
At Aldergrove, drivers are supposed to line up on 264th, but some cheaters cut in near the front of the line by turning at Zero Avenue, and police say it leads to road rage calls.
Paul Cordeiro with Langley Township says there are signs saying you can’t do that, and there are barricades. “You have to drive around the barricades to be able to make the right turn, but it’s not impossible.”
The Township might install more road barriers. At Pac Highway, the cutoff happens at 1st Ave and the Ministry of Transportation has sent News1130 an email saying they can’t ban turns at the intersection because it would harm local businesses, but say they are looking for solutions.
