VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – If this is something that doesn’t doesn’t bother you, then you could be the one doing it!

There’s now a campaign to put an end to phone snubbing — also known as “phubbing.”

It’s when your friends and family spend more time updating Facebook on their phone than paying attention to you.

The people behind the “Stop Phubbing” campaign say they will be putting up posters at businesses around the world, in an effort to get your to put your phone down.

It seems like the timing couldn’t be better. A recent study finds most people spend more than 30 minutes a day looking at their phone; a third will answer it, even if they’re talking to someone else.

Some experts say people are becoming legitimately addicted to their phones, and will even go through withdrawal if the devices are taken away.
