VPD raids linked to organized crime and Downtown Eastside

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Four people from an organized crime group are in custody; they are accused of selling cocaine to people living on the Downtown Eastside.

Constable Brian Montague says this morning, the VPD and the RCMP raided four apartments where the drugs were being sold.

“Charges are expected; I can’t say exactly when those charges will be recommended. What those charges will be will depend on exactly what we find inside these apartments,” he tells us.

“The execution of these warrants is part of ongoing efforts by police to help stop and prevent the flow of illegal drugs going into the Downtown Eastside,” adds Montague.

In total, six people were arrested, but two people have already been released.
