Chilliwack among 16 Target store locations closing in the next week or so

CHILLIWACK (NEWS1130) – Target will begin to close its Canadian stores next week.

The retailer will shut 16 stores by Sunday March 22nd, including Chilliwack and Cranbrook.

Target plans to close all 133 of its Canadian stores by mid-May. The Minneapolis-based company says staff and the public will be told of each closure about 10 days before they happen.

The company is abandoning its Canadian expansion after losing billions of dollars.
