VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – Ever since the Ashley Madison hack hit the headlines, a lot of spouses have been looking at their significant other and wondered…
A survey suggests most of them have nothing to worry about. But a handful of people have considered cheating.
About one in 10 Canadians admit to fooling around — more men than women.
“When we asked ‘Have you ever cheated on your spouse or partner, 10 per cent said yes, 80 per cent said no, and 10 per cent wouldn’t answer the question,” says David Valentin with Mainstreet Research.
About the same number says they’ve considered straying from their marriage vows.
But Valentin notes some of us aren’t sure what counts as cheating — because it seems men and women don’t always see infidelity the same way.
“Nine per cent of males think watching pornography counts as cheating. Seventeen per cent of females say it does,” he tells us.
He says you also see similar gaps when it comes to whether going to a strip club or kissing someone other than your partner counts as cheating.
