NANAIMO (NEWS 1130) – The case of a missing teen from Nanaimo has turned tragic.
She vanished just over two months ago.
Mounties are treating this as a homicide and say their Serious Crime Unit is involved in leading the investigation.
Makayla Chang, 16, was last seen on March 17th in Nanaimo where she lived and went to school.
She was reported missing several days later.
Chang’s grandmother was her guardian, but she had been staying with a 57-year-old man on and off for the last two months.
Police are not saying where or when her body was found and they have not revealed the cause of death.
