Man charged in fatal PoCo stabbing to appear in court Tuesday

PORT COQUITLAM (NEWS 1130) – A man is scheduled to appear in court tomorrow after he was charged with second degree murder connected to a fatal stabbing in Port Coquitlam last weekend.

Elwood Poorman was arrested Friday. Police say he was at a home on Atkins Avenue on Nov. 4 when he got into a confrontation with another man. Jonathon Shingoose, 36, was found with serious injuries and later died in the hospital.

A second man was also arrested at the home connected to the death, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation.
