One dead as two semis collide in fiery Delta crash

DELTA (NEWS 1130) – The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed one person has been killed in a fiery crash on Deltaport Way earlier this morning.

Two semis crashed just before 10 a.m. near the Roberts Bank causeway, engulfing one of them in flames and trapping a 37-year-old man.

According to the Delta Fire Department, the fire burnt for more than an hour before fire crews were able to control it, leaving behind a burnt out cab.

Images on social media show the fire raging with out of control flames, and smoke was visible from across the Lower Mainland.

It’s still not clear what caused the crash, and the victim has not yet been identified.
