NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A human rights complaint filed by a woman — who turned her North Vancouver townhouse into an illegal hotel — has been dismissed.
The B.C. Human Rights Tribunal has dismissed Emily Yu’s complaint based on a claim she’s a victim of discrimination by her Strata council.

Emily Yu failed to prove her claim she has a disability and she depends on income collected by renting out up to 15 beds in her unit.
She filed the complaint in April of last year.
One month later, a B.C. Supreme Court judge ruled in favour of her Strata council which doesn’t allow Airbnb rentals.
An adjudicator with the BC Human Rights Tribunal has now sided with that court ruling which has not been appealed by Yu.
