One dead after motorcycle accident in downtown Vancouver

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Vancouver Police are investigating after a 44-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle accident in downtown Vancouver this afternoon.

Just after 12 p.m. the driver was in the area of Nelson Street near Granville Street when he suddenly lost control of his motorcycle and hit a tree.

The driver was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

VPD says speed is likely a factor in the fatal crash.

This is Vancouver’s 12th motor fatality this year.

Witnesses are being asked to contact VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012 while they continue to investigate.
