VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — With mounting concerns amid the COVID-19 outbreak, many people around Metro Vancouver are stockpiling goods leading to empty shelves and crowded checkouts.
When it comes to hoard-type shopping, B.C. Premier John Horgan encouraged people to be mindful of their purchases.
“People should be measured in their responses, and they should make sure they’re prepared. But let’s not be ridiculous about this,” he said. “Let’s be thoughtful and reflect on the consequences of us buying everything. What does that mean for the next person in line that desperately needs that product.”
However, people have still been stocking up around the Lower Mainland.
