VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A designated driver service in the Lower Mainland is switching to delivering groceries and other essentials during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Safe Alternative Driving Service has suspended its usual nightly operations to respect physical distancing orders and instead offering grocery delivery.
Drivers will pick up essentials and deliver them if you’re unable to leave your home.
From a designated ride home…to grocery deliveries. A Safe Alternative Driving Service says it’s now able to deliver your groceries to you during the #COVID19 pandemic. The company’s drivers cover much of the Lower Mainland. Details here: https://t.co/cFvESgKvyj

The company typically offers designated drivers for those who’ve been consuming alcohol, covering Vancouver, Surrey, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster, White Rock, Coquitlam, Delta, Port Moody, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge, Langley, Aldergrove and through to Abbottsford.
“Our designated driver service is very much like Vancouver’s Operation Red Nose, however it’s all year round, 24/7 and it does not rely on volunteers,” the company says on its website.
