VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — A COVID-19 exposure notice has been expanded for two spots in downtown Vancouver.
Vancouver Coastal Health has expanded its virus window for Pierre’s Champagne Lounge on Hamilton Street and West Oak restaurant on Mainland Street to cover July 31 to Aug. 8.
The original timeframe was from July 31 to Aug. 3 and Aug. 6.
Anyone who was at the restaurant or lounge during these times is asked to self-monitor for symptoms, and call 811 for testing if symptoms do arise.
VCH has said the risk of getting the virus is low.
Two months ago, an Instagram story posted by Pierre’s Champagne Lounge in Yaletown seemed to show a crowded bar and few health regulations being followed. However, the general manager argued the video was misleading.
This comes the same day provincial health officials announced hundreds of new contact tracers will be hired in B.C.
Premier @jjhorgan saying the province hiring 500 contact tracers to help with the pandemic response.
These will be temporary jobs hired by health authorities.

Currently, there are no changes in time frames at other places around Vancouver where the virus has been detected.
