Abbotsford Police seeking witnesses following drive-by shooting

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS 1130) — Police in Abbotsford are searching for witnesses following a shooting Saturday night.
Around 10:00 p.m., Abbotsford police were called to Mayfair Avenue near Olive Way after shots were fired from a vehicle.
“Upon arrival, officers spoke to the 22-year-old victim, who advised that he and his girlfriend were in their vehicle in the driveway, when the occupants of a dark pick-up fired a gun towards him, hitting their vehicle in the driveway and the residence,” a release reads. “The occupants of the suspect vehicle fled the area.”

The police department says it does not believe the attack was random, but the motive is not known yet.
“Fortunately, no one was injured.”
The Abbotsford PD, Major Crime detectives and Forensic Identification Unit officers will continue their investigation Sunday morning, “Collecting evidence and canvassing the area for video and additional witnesses.”
