PARKSVILLE (NEWS 1130) — After a young woman was found dead on the median of Highway 19 near Parksville Saturday, Mounties on the Island are asking for help identifying a “vehicle of interest.”
The discovery of the 22-year-old woman’s body north of Exit 51 southbound closed the highway four-lane highway Saturday.
“Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances around the woman’s death, however early indications are she was the victim of a hit and run,” reads a release from Oceanside RCMP.
On Sunday, police appealed for help finding a vehicle and its driver.
“The vehicle is described as a brown 1991 Chevrolet Suburban with damage to the driver’s side headlight and bug screen,” according to police.
