Three bodies found in remote spot on Vancouver Island, man in hospital: RCMP

QUALICUM BEACH (NEWS 1130) — Oceanside RCMP and the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit are investigating the discovery of three bodies found dead Sunday in rural Qualicum Beach, while a fourth person who was shot remains in hospital in stable condition.
A person riding his off-road motorcycle on Melrose Forest Service Road — west of Parksville on Vancouver Island — came across an unresponsive man shortly after 2 p.m. and called BC Emergency Health Services and RCMP.
Paramedics and police confirmed the man was dead.
Two other people were found dead in a burned-out travel trailer nearby.
A fourth person, a man who had been shot, was found in a separate trailer and airlifted to hospital.

He is in stable condition, according to RCMP.
“As this investigation is in its infancy, there are many questions that remain unanswered. Initial findings lead investigators to believe that this in an isolated incident between parties well known to one another. We do not believe there is any on-going risk to the public,” Oceanside RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman says in a release.
The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit and BC Coroners Service are both conducting investigations.
The names of the deceased men are not being released at this time, RCMP says.
