VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – It’s been a big few weeks for KiSS Radio host Tara Jeans Stevens, who also walks listeners through the Heaven Bent podcast.
Now in its second season, the show examines divine intervention and is based in part on Stevens’ experiences as a teen at her childhood church in Prince Rupert. She recalls worshippers laughing uncontrollably, shaking, falling to the ground, and even claiming that gold teeth miraculously appeared in their mouths.
The current season looks at the spread of COVID-19 at the Bethel Church in Redding, California. The church is described by some as one of the largest – and most unusual.
“Leadership is a little bit – I shouldn’t even say a little bit – they’re very much against masks and the public orders because they believe that God will heal them and that we’re living right now in a spirit of fear,” she tells NEWS 1130.

Another change from the season prior includes Stevens putting out some of the episodes without knowing how the situation is going to play out.
Either way, Stevens is always excited to see what kind of dialogue will be created during this season’s topics.
“I’m able to hear from lots of different people and create a space for people whether they’re religious or not, to understand this stuff in a new way. I speak with journalists, I speak with scientists, I speak with on-fire Christians and Atheists,” she explains.
