COVID-19 outbreak declared at Vancouver General Hospital health centre

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) – An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at the Segal Family Health Centre at Vancouver General Hospital.
Two clients on the fifth floor of the building have tested positive for the virus. That floor is now closed to new admissions and transfers.
All non-essential visits have been suspended. Only compassionate visits at end of life are allowed.

The centre offers mental health acute inpatient services.
Vancouver Coastal Health says also says it has stepped up cleaning and disinfection efforts, and is monitoring all patients and staff.
