Investigators have taped off Trina Hunt’s family home Saturday, as the homicide investigation continues.

PORT MOODY (NEWS 1130) – Investigators taped off Trina Hunt’s family home Saturday, as the homicide investigation continues.

Two Port Moody Police Department SUVs are on scene at the Hunt’s Heritage Woods neighbourhood home.

CityNews has reached out to Port Moody Police Department for comment.

A tweet from the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says search warrants in Port Moody and Mission were executed this weekend.

The search warrant is also being executed also at a home in a Mission.

The police presence follows the Hunt family announcing a $50,000 reward earlier this month for any information that leads to charges or arrests in connection with her murder.

On Jan. 18, Hunt was reported missing by her family to Port Moody Police. In February, the case was reviewed by IHIT, but it determined it did not have the information necessary to investigate the case as a murder at the time.

A high-profile search continued until May 1, when IHIT confirmed human remains found in Hope on March 29 were that of the 48-year-old woman. Her death is being treated as a homicide.

On June 1, Hunt’s family pleaded for information that can lead to an arrest.

“Please think back to the weekend of Jan. 15,” Hunt’s cousin, Stephanie Stella Ibbott, said in a video. “Trina was found in Hope, B.C., south of Silver Creek. Did you see or hear anything out of the ordinary? Do you know something? Anything?”

“We know someone out there knows something or has heard something. Are you suspicious of someone or are you protecting someone? We need you to come forward. We need you to be Trina’s voice,” she said.

Homicide investigators said last month they were being inundated with calls and comments from the public.

“We understand the impact that the investigation has had on the Tri-Cities community and beyond, quite frankly,” Jang said.

A Facebook page that was dedicated to finding Hunt when she was missing is now dedicated to finding justice for her.
