There is a large #protest blocking Broadway and Cambie in #Vancouver. There is a speaker in the centre of the crowd speaking for the Extinction Rebellion group against climate change. In particular, many signs here are in protest of old growth logging. @NEWS1130 @NEWS1130Traffic pic.twitter.com/EDkVPiDU2Y

Starting at around midday Saturday, demonstrators congregated at Vancouver’s City Hall before marching down the hill to Broadway.
In the Facebook event posting, the protesters, organized by Extinction Rebellion, say they will “occupy the intersection for an indefinite period of time.”
Because Cambie and Broadway is blocked due to an Extinction Rebellion protest, drivers are being rerouted down W 8th, which is currently a traffic nightmare @NEWS1130Traffic pic.twitter.com/5NLUfDgbLq

Multiple VPD officers, along with vans and motorbikes, have blocked off the area to traffic, causing major delays due to re-routes. They are asking drivers to avoid the area.
